OMAN AIRWAYS Job Opening - APPLY NOW

Oman Air can track the root back to 1970 when Oman International Services (OIS) was established. The company became a civil aviation service at Beit Al Falaj Airport. [5] In 197, OIS moved its business to the new terminal at Seeb International Airport. The company took over the Gulf Air Light Aircraft Division in 1977, before the establishment of the Aircraft Engineering Division in the same year. The fast growing civil aviation industry in Oman led the OIS to build more facilities - including hangars, workshops and aircraft catering, to accommodate the increase in activity.

In 1981 Oman Aviation Services became a joint stock company. OAS also bought 13 flights from Gulf Air, allowing the company to trade turbo prop Fokker 27-600 with the -500 series. [5] The following year, Oman Aviation Services jointly started jet services, along with Gulf Air, to Salalah. From 1983 to 1993, the company acquired new equipment, including Cessna Citation, and new facilities to help improve its services.
